Greetings, my name is Boekar. I have never before written a journal, but the events I have experienced need to be recorded and brought into the light.
It was a dark and stormy night. Well, it wasn't dark or stormy, but it was at night. I have seen Omegas before, but this time they were out in force.
I was 14 the first time I saw the Omegas. They had setup a checkpoint down the road from my house in the neighborhood. They were dressed all in black armor, helmets covering their faces. They wee super intimidating just standing there. No one would even think about penetrating their security line. I found myself wondering what they were doing in my neighborhood. I didn't recognize the house they had secured.
I did recognize a house nearby as belonging to one of my friends from class group. I went over to that house and quietly knocked, so as to not gain the attention of the Omega squad. As I stood there on the porch, I looked back at the secured house and saw one of the Omegas leaving by the front door escorting an old woman down the front lawn wearing containment shackles. The door opened behind me and I quickly entered the house at the urging of my friend.
"What's going on over there," I asked.
"The old woman that lives over there was found with forbidden literature," answered Belara. "I heard one of them mention they had a tip that she had a copy of a restricted book. Then they just rushed in there and forced the rest of us outside their perimeter."
Belera's mother came into the front room and said, "It is time for you to go home now, Boekar. With the Omegas out in this neighborhood, it is best for you to be home and not out on the streets."
I made my goodbyes and slipped quietly out the front door and down the street to my house. Always keeping an eye out down the street where the Omegas were still keeping the street locked down.
